Tesla ranks 2nd in sales in the premium segment in the United States

According to Automotive News, in 2021 BMW was again the best-selling brand in terms of premium vehicle sales in the United States, while Tesla was in second place.

And what is the number one selling car in U.S. winner is BMW with 336,644 vehicles sold in the U.S. last year, and Tesla is not far behind with 313,400.

With this, Tesla surpassed other premium brands in the USA, such as Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Audi.

Sales of premium brands in the US during 2021:

  1. BMW – 336,644
  2. Tesla – 313,400
  3. Lexus – 304,475
  4. Mercedes-Benz – 276,102
  5. Audi – 196,038

Due to high demand and the start of production in Texas, Tesla is expected to continue rapid growth, so by 2022 it could probably overtake BMW in the US market.

Automotive News also states that 2.2 million premium vehicles were sold in the United States in 2021 (14.7% of total sales), so Tesla’s share is already 14%.
