Embark Studios has announced that they have replaced most of the voice acting done with artificial intelligence in their ARC Raiders.

Although it is ARC Raiders won the sympathy of the players, some still resented him for what he was the game used generative AI technology to provide voice acting for the characters in the game.
The acting in the game seemed robotic and somewhat soulless, and the developers justified themselves by saying that using AI technology for this purpose was more flexible and efficient for the development of the game itself. Additionally, it’s not that the AI completely generated the acting in the game, but the actual actors gave their consent for the AI to imitate their voices in the game, for which they were compensated.
For the most part, it was a rare ARC Raiders controversy that players uncharacteristically chose to see through. But at Embark Studios, they wanted to move away from those accusations as soon as possible, so they put most of the AI voices in the game subsequently replaced with real acting real actors.
“We re-recorded some of the lines after the game came out and made them with real voices. There is a difference in quality. A real professional actor is better than an AI; it’s just like that. We see AI primarily as a production tool. We can test things internally. We can try 15 different sentences without recording, and then we know what to record. This is also the way of working for us, not replacing actors. We don’t necessarily believe in replacing humans with AI all the time.” – said the head of Embark Studios, Patrick Söderlund.
