
Mercedes-Benz continues to record strong growth in sales of electric cars. According to the company’s latest data, in the second quarter of this year, sales of all-electric models increased by 51 percent compared to the same period last year.
As reported by ArenaEV, Mercedes-Benz delivered 52,900 electric vehicles during the period from April to June, which is also 19 percent more than in the first quarter of this year. In the first six months of 2026, a total of 97,100 electric cars were sold, i.e. 28 percent more than in the first half of last year.
At the level of the entire Mercedes Group, 63,000 electric vehicles were sold in the second quarter, while a total of 113,300 electric cars were delivered in the first half of the year. This represents a growth of 30 percent compared to the same period last year.
Mercedes points out that the main driver of this growth is the European market. The demand for electric models in Europe during the second quarter increased by as much as 87 percent compared to the previous year, whereby out of a total of 52,900 electric Mercedes sold, 43,500 were delivered to European customers. In the German market, sales of electric models more than doubled.
Electric cars now account for 13 percent of Mercedes’ global sales, up from 7.7 percent in the second quarter of last year. The company also states that interest in the GLC, CLA and GLB models is so great that orders are already being extended into next year.
