Recently Apple Studio, a new compact computer intended primarily for content creation professionals, was released at the event. However, what was most interesting about this computer is the processor that will adorn it – M1 Ultra.
Namely, Apple created the latest chip in its M1 series by connecting two M1 Max processors and thus bringing users unprecedented processing power. That is why it is very interesting to see how Apple will improve the most powerful computer in its offer – Mac Pro.
For now, both the Mac Pro and Mac Mini use Intel x86 processors. However, as stated by Expreview, it is possible that Apple is developing a completely new line of processors called “Redfern”. These processors will use the same technology of connecting two chips to get a much more powerful solution. In this case, it could be connecting two M1 Ultra processors to get a chip that has 40 cores (32 “performance” cores and 8 “efficiency ”Cores) as well as support for 256GB of unified low latency memory. These processors are expected to appear in September, as part of the new Mac Pro line of computers.
This coincides with earlier allegations that Apple is expected to use its own chips in the new Mac Pro computers. At the time, the alleged code name for the new series of processors was Jade 4C-Die, and it was also expected to have a total of 40 cores. So maybe Redfern is just a new name for Jade 4C-Die.
For now, further information is not available, but we are sure that the new Mac Pro will certainly be a powerful computer for professionals who will, we are also sure, have a slightly higher price. Also, the new chip connection technology leaves room for some very interesting and fast solutions. We don’t know what it will look like, but we believe that it will be very interesting to see him at the end of the summer.
