After ten years of existence, Ubisoft’s branch in Belgrade closed its doors and joined the growing number of closed studios of the French company.
The company Ubisoft has closed two more of its studios: one in Canada and the other in Serbia.
Ubisoft’s branch in Belgrade thus closed after ten years of business. More than a hundred employees were laid off.
Ubisoft Belgrade was initially focused on PC editions of Ubisoft’s games, but in later years it also started to deal with support for their live service titles. They did not produce games independently, but they were once described as the only studio from this area that worked on high-budget franchises. They collaborated in the development of series such as Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six.
The last project that Ubisoft Belgrade worked on was the upcoming remake of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced.
The closure of the Belgrade branch is just the latest in a series of Ubisoft cuts that the company’s management is trying to keep alive. It was last year Ubisoft fired more than 1,500 of its employeesand in 2026 they have so far closed four studios and laid off almost 500 people.
