As Elon Musk announced last year, the idea of Tesla’s “baby” is very relevant. The latest information says that Tesla’s latest car will compete with models such as the Volkswagen ID.3, Kia e-Niro, and Nissan Leaf, but with one significant advantage.
The still nameless Tesla concept model will be cheaper than the mentioned competitors. And not only that, the model will go down another price and compete with cars such as the Peugeot e-208 and the like.

The secret of success lies in the battery that will offer up to 50% lower production costs (about 90 euros / kWh). At the same time, this battery allows several times higher energy storage capacity and up to a 16% larger radius of movement.
The smallest Tesla will have an autonomy of at least 250-miles (400 km), according to the WLTP measurement standard, which is more than the basic ID.3 which offers 220-miles (350 km).
According to Mask, that is the minimum radius that did not satisfy Tesla. The top version should have an autonomy of at least 350-miles (566 km), as the Model 3 Long Range offers.
Judging by the official sketch, the new model of the American car will have design similarities with the Model 3, but with a more pronounced two-volume shape of compact cars.
New Tesla Hatchback Price and Release Date
And now comes the best part, the basic price of the smallest Tesla should be around $25.000 USD (23,300 euros). The release date should be sometimes at the beginning of the year 2023.
The only thing that is not yet known is whether the new model will be produced in China or Berlin. European versions of the Tesla Model 2 are set to be produced alongside the Model 3 and Model Y. Elon Musk has previously confirmed that Tesla will “create a car for worldwide sale” in China and market in China.
