Android 17 will make using the mobile data switch more convenient thanks to the new “Don’t ask me again” option. It removes the confirmation window that appears every time a user turns on mobile data from the Quick Settings menu.
The new option is currently available in the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5 version, so most users will have to wait a little longer for its arrival in the stable release of the system.
For years, Wi-Fi and mobile data were contained within a single Internet field, requiring a few extra taps to access individual switches. Android 17 changed that by introducing separate Quick Settings toggles for Wi-Fi and Mobile Data data, which was reportedly one of the most requested changes among users.
Android 17 may permanently remove the mobile data warning
Although the separate switch made it easy to turn on mobile data, every time it was activated a warning appeared that its use could cause additional costs according to the tariff package. The message is intended primarily for users with a limited amount of mobile internet.
However, some users were bothered by the fact that the same warning was displayed every time mobile data was turned on. That’s why Google added the “Don’t ask me again” option, which permanently removes this window after the first tick. This will make it much easier for you to spend money.
The feature was introduced in Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5 released this week. Users who want to try it before the stable release will need to join the Android Beta program.
The change isn’t huge, but it removes an unnecessary extra step and makes using the new switch simpler. The stable Android 17 QPR1 build should arrive first on Pixel phones in September, reports AH.
