A Lenovo laptop with an expandable screen works like real magic

Lenovo brought pure magic to this year’s CES consumer electronics fair in the form of a laptop with an expandable screen.

About a year ago, at the CES fair, Lenovo presented a conceptual laptop from its ThinkPad office series, special in that its screen could be expanded in height. This technology has not yet come to life in a commercial product, but Lenovo already has something even better – a laptop with a horizontally expandable screen!

This time it is a laptop from the gamer line Legionwith an OLED screen that magically expands on the left and right sides to become ultrawide. From the 16-inch screen we get a 21.5-inch screen in what Lenovo calls “Tactical Mode”, and in the full “Arena Mode” edition the screen is stretched to 24 inches.

Lenovo says that this expansion process is accompanied by minimal vibration and noise. They designed the laptop for esports competitors who travel around the world, so that they don’t have to drag monitors with them.

Now, as with previous products of this type, it is still not something that will go into mass production and free sale. It is still a concept product without an indication of how much something like this would cost and when it might finally become available for us poor people.
