Brembo started production of the first fully electric brakes, without hydraulics

The well-known manufacturer Brembo has officially announced the start of serial production of its intelligent braking system Sensify. The system, they say, will be installed as standard equipment on all vehicles within the program of one of the world’s leading car manufacturers – but they are not yet revealing which one. Entering serial production, on the other hand, confirmed the readiness of the platform for full industrial application and integration into modern automotive architectures.

Bez hydraulic technology

Sensify represents a significant step forward in the adoption of software-defined braking systems for safety-critical applications. It is designed as a scalable solution that supports a wide range of vehicles, from those with advanced driver assistance systems to fully autonomous platforms. According to Brembo CEO, Daniele Schillacithis system turns the vision of an intelligent and integrated platform into an industrial reality.

Unlike traditional systems, Sensify is based on a fluid-free architecture, which “drops” intelligence directly to the wheel. By eliminating hydraulic circuits and centralized activation, precise and continuous modulation of braking forces is possible. Such an approach ensures stable and controlled vehicle behavior even in complex and highly variable road conditions.

The innovation stands out in the market thanks to the combination of hardware and adaptive software layers. As more and more electromechanical braking technologies emerge in the automotive industry, Sensify fits naturally into the software-defined vehicle paradigm. This enables manufacturers to implement advanced functionalities with ensured consistency and long-term value throughout the entire life cycle of the car, is the message from Brembo.

The success of the first serial production was accompanied by the signing of new contracts with additional customers. Brembo predicts that it will equip hundreds of thousands of vehicles with this system per year, which paves the way for mass application of the technology on a global scale.

By the way, Brembo introduced the Sensify technology three years ago and announced it with this video:
