One developer at TikTok did a good promotion for his game, claiming to have created the most realistic grass in video games.
I don’t live on TikTok, but supposedly deep gamer discussions are springing up there. One of these was prompted by a viral post by the developer Matta Newella, who stated that he made “the best grass in video games”. With this claim, he called on other developers to try to surpass him with their creations.
Newell’s grass has grown in his upcoming game Lushfoil Photography Sim. This landscape photography simulator, with VR support, should see the light of day sometime in early 2023. It is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and the whole thing looks nice, as you can see in the demo below.
Now, is that “the best grass ever made” in video games? And what would that even mean? Does that mean that it is visually the most diverse, the most authentic or greener than the grass from other games? Is it better than in Lawn Mowing Simulator? That part is open to interpretation.
