Data from Auto Trader, a British car advertising company, show an incredible increase in the value of used cars in the last 12 months. With used car prices across Europe currently higher than ever, it is more important than ever to buy a used car you can count on.
Commenting on the What Cara poll, editor Steve Huntingford states: ‘The prices of used cars have risen due to increased demand caused by a lack of chips and other problems with the supply of new cars. Given that many models cost a third more than a year ago, it is more important than ever to choose a reliable model that will not lead you to a constant series of expensive repair bills’.

What Car has published the results of a survey on the reliability of used cars that tell you which brands and models you can rely on without encountering problems. It is about the feedback of 16,327 drivers on the reliability of their used cars, reports Jutarnji.hr.
Reliability data refer to cars between six and fifteen years old and cover a total of 27 brands and 139 popular models. Despite their age, the three models achieved a perfect reliability rating of 100 percent. It is the current version of the Ford Mondeo, Suzuki Vitara and the previous generation Nissan Leaf EV (on sale from 2011 to 2018).

Vitara also led Suzuki’s victory in the brand rankings, pushing the brand above Lexus and Toyota in terms of reliability, with an overall rating of 97 percent. The 10 best brands are dominated by Japanese and Korean brands, although surprisingly cheap Dacia appeared at number nine, which is one place more than Porsche.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for SUVs, small SUVs have proven more reliable than large ones, with an average reliability rating of 86.6 percent, while luxury SUVs have collected just 69.5 percent.

The report showed that a quarter of cars aged 6 to 15 had a breakdown. Only 15 percent of defects were repaired free of charge, while the vast majority of defects were outside the manufacturer’s warranty period.
