New Tata Avinya 2025 EV crossover hatchback concept

Tata Motor, the Indian parent company of Jaguar Land Rover, showcased the modern-looking Avinya concept, which reflects its electrical ambitions. The name is derived from Sanskrit and means “innovation”, which is appropriate given the news coming later this decade.

The Avinya is an attractive car with very short overhangs. The electric platform is designed from a “blank sheet of paper”, which means that there is no reliance on existing models with SUS motors.

There aren’t many details for now, but Tata Motor states that the battery pack is enough for at least 500km of driving after charging for less than 30 minutes.

The shape of the vehicle is closer to a minivan than a crossover, the B-pillars have been removed, and the rear doors open in the opposite direction. The concept has big points that we don’t usually see on production models.

The Avinya has narrow headlights that illustrate the company logo, and the usual side mirrors have been replaced by cameras. The almost flat roof allows for a spacious interior in which the front seats rotate.

The minimalist cab offers plenty of passenger legroom thanks to the extended wheelbase. In the world of cars with larger and more numerous screens, the Avinya stands out for one screen that is fixed to the steering wheel.
