Car of the Year in Europe – KIA EV6

The KIA EV6 is the car of the year in Europe, according to the selection of specialized motoring journalists from 23 European countries. Given the situation in Ukraine, the organizers of the elections said that the votes from Russia were not included, but that they would not change the final outcome.

The KIA EV6 scored 279 points and surpassed the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, which received 265 points. Hyundai Ioniq 5 finished in third place with 261 points. Other finalists were Peugeot 308 (191 points), Škoda Enyaq (185 points), Ford Mustang Mach-E (150 points) and Cupra Born (144 points).

This is the first time that a KIA model has won the car of the year title. According to European WLTP measurements, the EV6 can cover 528 kilometers on a single battery charge. The model is offered in several specifications, with batteries with a capacity of 58kWh and 77.4kWh and front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Jury members assessed that the EV6 is an excellent electric vehicle due to its fast charging and good autonomy for the price. Compared to Hyundai's model, the EV6 has less body tilt, more lively handling and is more precise in curves, all in all - it's more sporty.

The variant with a larger battery is available with only two electric units with a total power of 325 hp and all-wheel drive. Due to the higher power, the autonomy suffers, which in this variant drops to 441 km. The GT model has also been announced, which will have two units with a total power of 585 hp and acceleration from 0-100 km / h in less than 3.5 seconds.
