Although most models exceed the price of around 1,500 euros, more and more affordable options are appearing that offer superior image quality with certain compromises.
Four OLED models with the best price-quality ratio
The Samsung S85F uses QD-OLED technology, which combines OLED with quantum dots for stronger colors and higher maximum screen brightness. With support for VRR, Dolby Atmos and advanced audio functions, this model offers a complete multimedia experience, although some users have complaints about the Tizen interface.
The Panasonic Z85 brings a solid package with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The advantage of this model is the built-in 50 W speakers that can replace the soundbar in basic scenarios. The limitation is the lower maximum brightness of the screen, which can be noticed in brighter rooms.
The model from the LG B5 series represents one of the most balanced choices. Available in several diagonals, it offers excellent color accuracy, deep black and high-quality content upscaling to 4K resolution. Support for HDMI 2.1 and 4K/120Hz makes it a good choice for gaming, although it performs best in darkened rooms.
The Sony Bravia XR8B is a simplified version of the more expensive Sony models, but still offers excellent image quality, support for Dolby Vision and 4K/120Hz display. The Google TV platform provides a wide selection of content, while the compromise is a slightly lower brightness compared to more expensive variants.
Although none of these models represent the absolute top of the range, they have in common that they offer very high image quality for their price. OLED technology remains the best choice for watching movies and series, and these models show that it is no longer necessary to spend the most money to get a superb display.
