Windows 11 got Xbox Mode for all users

The latest Windows 11 update brought the official launch of Xbox Mod for PC, which brings a controller-friendly interface to the Xbox app.

Any Windows 11 PC can now officially be “transformed” into an Xbox. That is, in the latest update of Windows 11 it was launched Xbox Mode which has been in testing since last year under the name Xbox Full Screen Experience.

Xbox Mode is first and foremost special mode of Windows 11. If you use it during the boot itself, i.e. starting the system, you automatically enter the Xbox application and the system does not load applications and services that are not necessary for gaming, for example Windows Explorer / Desktop. In this way, the system saves about 1GB of working memory.

Xbox Mode can be started even while Windows is already active, and the fastest way to do it is with a combination of keys Win+F11but then you don’t get any working memory savings.

While the system is in Xbox mode, the screen displays only one window at a timeand that over the entire screen. The interface is adapted to be controlled with a gamepad, although a mouse and keyboard can be used.

Xbox Mode is actually the first step in Microsoft’s transformiranju Xbox on Windows 11 PC. The next Xbox console, codenamed Project Helix, will be a hybrid device that will run both PC and Xbox games, and will use Windows 11 as the operating system.
