A new report indicates that five different media houses are interested in buying the film rights to the Battlefield video game series.

It’s only been a week since news broke that Electronic Arts’ game series would Battlefield get its own film adaptation. And that plan seems to have gotten a lot of attention in Hollywood.
Portal The Wrap reports that there is an ongoing bidding war between five major studios who are interested in buying the rights to the Battlefield film. Reportedly, among the interested parties are the giants of the entertainment industry: Netflix, Warner Bros., Sony, Universal i Amazon MGM.
The only thing known about the Battlefield film itself is that it should be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the Mission: Impossible films. Famous actor Michael B. Jordan will be the producer of the film, and it is speculated that he could also have a leading role in it.
As we already wrote, Battlefield games are not so much known for their stories and characters as for team multiplayer. However, Hollywood’s interest is by no means accidental. The recent Battlefield 6, with more than 20 million copies sold, was the best-selling game of 2025, breaking Call of Duty’s long-standing dominance.
As it has already been announced that Call of Duty will have its film premiere in 2028 and the rights for that film have been secured by Paramount, it is obvious that Battlefield is the next hot franchise that everyone wants to have in their catalog and on their platform.
