Demand for the Steam Controller is insane – anyone who hasn’t ordered by now won’t get a controller until 2027.

Valve is facing a problem – they can’t produce enough Steam Controllers to meet the demand for them.

It’s for some reason Steam Controller currently the most requested new gamepad on the market. That is, at least that’s how it seems, because Valve said that reservations for the purchase of Steam Controllers are practically full for the rest of this year.

In other words, if you haven’t booked your chance to buy a Steam Controller yet, you probably won’t get it before 2027.

Those who have recently reserved their copy of the controller have been promised that they will receive the controller by the ninth month of this year.

Valve definitely did not expect this kind of player interest in the controller, and in the first wave of sales, the Steam Controller was sold out in just a few hours. It’s later reservation system introduced in order for more people to get more specific information on when they will be able to buy the controller and when it could be delivered to them.

An additional reason why Valve has problems with controller inventory is that they have to save some of that stock for the Steam Machine. Namely, Valve’s living room PC will come with an accompanying Steam Controller. As Valve intends to launch the Steam Machine later this summer, the first step is to provide controllers for Steam Machine buyers.
