Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5 with some exclusive stuff

Bethesda explained what exclusive features PlayStation 5 console owners can expect once they play Starfield next week.

Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5 consoles next week, and will have some exclusive features on those devices as well. They are not tied to the content itself, but to the extended “experience” primarily through the DualSense controller. The following is thus confirmed:

  • adjusting the light on the controller to the level of the player’s health
  • additional shortcuts for the controller’s touchpad: a short hold on the right part of the touchpad opens the scanner, pressing the right part opens the map, pressing the left part changes the camera perspective, and swipe commands in three directions open inventory, quests and skills
  • the controller’s speaker can be used to play recorded sound tracks or radio communication with the ship
  • adaptive triggers are adjusted according to the type of weapon

It is also confirmed that the game will have two performance options on the PlayStation 5 Pro model: visual mode (4K, 30 fps) and Performance mode (targeting 60 fps), with support for PSSR upscaling.

It was previously confirmed that the PS5 version will be launched with the so-called Free Lanes update, which enables continuous travel between planets and many other improvements.
