We find out what Croats most often forget about Uber

There are few situations that cause as much discomfort as the moment when, after getting out of the vehicle, you realize that you forgot something in the back seat. Ahead of the busy summer travel season, Uber has released the tenth edition of its Lost & Found Index – an annual review of the items that users most often forget while driving. This review also reminds that forgotten items can be quickly and easily returned to their owners via the Uber app.

Although Croats most often forget everyday things such as mobile phones, wallets and keys, Uber’s global Lost & Found Index shows that some forgotten items are not at all common this year. Among the most unusual items found around the world this year were a toothpick with two teeth, breast milk, a mini-fridge, two live trees, a dishwasher, a package of live butterflies, two wedding dresses, a 75-gallon aquarium, a mannequin, a magic wand, a coffee table and even a child’s prosthetic eye.

Of course, most applications still relate to everyday objects. According to data from Croatia, mobile phones and cameras are at the top of the list of most frequently forgotten things, which are forgotten more than twice as often as the second most common category – bags, backpacks and luggage. Wallets, keys, glasses, headphones and speakers follow, while passports were among the ten most frequently forgotten categories.

Among the most touching applications were a pink stuffed bunny beloved by a three-year-old boy, a white stuffed panda, without which the two-year-old boy, as the application states, “refuses to sleep”, a baby blanket and a tiny baby shoe. Travel enthusiasts, on the other hand, reported that they left bags of Istrian chocolates with truffles, gift bags, books, beach mats and sun hats in the vehicle.

Another interesting fact shows that Croats often forget their headgear. Among the reported items were black hats, woolen hats, plaid hats, visors of The North Face, Adidas and Nike brands, straw hats, but also a hat with UV protection made of a special material for sun protection.

“Almost everyone has at least once experienced the moment when, after finishing the ride, they realized that they left something important in the vehicle. The good news is that users can easily contact the driver through the Uber application and arrange the return of the lost item, which makes the whole process quick and easy,” she said. Morena Šimatić, director for Uber Croatia.

Friday night – the time when things are mostly forgotten

The data also reveals a clear pattern when it comes to the times when users most often leave their belongings in the vehicle. Friday at 7 p.m. stands out as the time when the most subjects are forgotten, while the largest number of applications refer to weekend evenings and night outs.

Most applications are submitted between 4 and 10 p.m., when people return from work, socializing or going out. On the other hand, the fewest things are forgotten during the early hours of the weekday morning.
