HONOR is preparing a top flagship with a 2 nm processor and two 200 MP cameras

Preliminary information reveals that HONOR is preparing a new flagship phone that will be a real “beast” in terms of performance and camera capabilities. According to new information revealed on Weibo by a DCS insider, the company is reportedly preparing a new flagship phone that could actually be the HONOR Magic 9 Pro model.

If the rumors are true, the HONOR Magic 9 series could be launched in October this year, similar to the previous generation. The phones are expected to use ARRI image processing technology, which could bring more serious improvements in photography and video recording, although specific technical details are not yet known.

The first information indicates that the HONOR Magic 9 Pro could use a new generation chip made in 2 nm production technology. It is most likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform, which would inherit the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from the HONOR Magic 8 Pro model.

HONOR Magic 9 Pro aims for two 200 MP cameras

The phone should have a flat LTPO 2.0 screen with a diagonal of 6.8 inches with a 1.5K resolution. It would be a slightly larger panel compared to the 6.71-inch screen of the previous Pro generation.

The biggest jump is still expected with the camera system. According to the same source, the HONOR Magic 9 Pro could get a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, as well as a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. With this, HONOR would try to directly respond to the competition from the companies OPPO and Vivo.

Another important novelty could be 3D facial recognition, which would make biometric unlocking even more secure. The possibility of using Metalenz Polar ID technology is also mentioned, which is reportedly getting ready for its market debut. In addition, the phone should also have a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
